This red sauce gets a sweet, peppery boost from red bell peppers, adding freshness and depth to an otherwise traditional marinara recipe.

Warm the olive oil in a medium sauté pan over medium heat, Add the onion, red bell peppers, garlic, Italian seasoning, and crushed red pepper, and cook, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are softened, about 3 to 5 minutes.

Transfer the sautéed vegetables to the Blender Pitcer. Add the canned tomatoes, sugar, and salt. PULSE 4 times, then blend on LOW until the sauce reaches your desired consistency.

Pour the blended sauce back into the pan and simmer over low heat for 20 minutes. Serve over pasta, roasted vegetables, or as a dip for bread sticks, meatballs, or mozzarella sticks.
