Pack in the Last of Summer

There’s so much to love about summer. Thanks to warmer temps and longer days, there’s really no better time of year to embark on new adventures. And when the warm weather has us moving and motivated, we need great food to keep us fueled, energized, and feeling good.

Whether it’s a road trip you’ve been wanting to take, a hike you’ve had on your bucket list, or even just a fun day at the beach, these on-the-go meals, snacks, bites, and sips make the perfect companion for every type of warm weather adventure. Prep ‘em, pack ‘em, and get out there! Summer is officially calling.

  1. Energy bites. These little bites of deliciousness pack a serious dose of nutrition into every mouthful. They’re super easy to whip up and are easy to take on the road. We have a ton of great recipes, but these Double Chocolate Energy Bites are a guaranteed crowd favorite among even your littlest and most selective eaters.
  2. Salads with homemade dressing. Craving a full-meal salad for lunch or dinner throughout the summer months? Same. Refreshing fruits and veggies simply sound good this time of year, probably because of all the delicious, in-season produce we get to play with. If you’re heading to a picnic or outdoor concert, you can layer individual ingredients in a large jar with the dressing on the bottom so the salad doesn’t get soggy. Give it a shake to mix it up right before you dig in, and you’ve got the perfect portable meal. As for homemade dressing, you can’t go wrong with our Easy Balsamic Vinaigrette.
  3. Dips. Whether it’s Hummus or Yogurt Dip, dips are the perfect poolside snack. When it comes to choosing your dips, go for ones that pump up your nutrient intake for the day, rather than leave you feeling sluggish.
  4. Smoothies. Simply put, summertime and smoothies go hand-in-hand. There are obviously so many favorites to choose from, but if you want to take portability to a whole new level, you’ll love whipping up a smoothie in our nutribullet Flip Insulated Portable Blender. You also can’t go wrong with this Strawberry Banana Smoothie. Blend, sip, and enjoy your life.
  5. Essence water. During the hot days of summertime, staying adequately hydrated is so important for your body to maintain certain internal functions, such as electrolyte balance and a healthy internal temperature. To encourage fluid intake, try a homemade juice, like this Watermelon Kiwi Nectar or essence water – both make for a nutritious and delicious change of pace from plain old H2O.
